“Great Talent” concert series: Sophie Rennert at the Konzerthaus Wien – Jan. 12th and 27th

First Angelina in Rossini’s “La Cenerentola” at the Nationaltheater Mannheim (also on Jan. 10th, Feb. 16th and Mar. 28th), then lied recitals at the Hohenems Schubertiade, in Belfast and in London’s Wigmore Hall, followed by a whirlwind tour of China with the Young Singers Project – during the last months of 2017, young Austrian mezzo Sophie Rennert was quite busy, one would think. But rest and sleep are for others, it would seem: On Jan. 12th already, she gives a concert together with fellow mezzo-soprano Dorottya Láng, cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan, and Julius Drake at the piano. The evening, part of the “Great Talent”-series at the Vienna Konzerthaus, will centre around works by Brahms and Schubert. On Jan. 27th, she performs in one of the Konzerthaus’s popular “Préludes to Resonance”, accompanied by harpsichordist Evelyn Laib.
